Enormous internet outage led to major websites shutting down.
Some of the major websites like Amazon, Reddit, Twitch, Spotify, Vimeo, PayPal, Stack Overflow, The Guardian, even gov.uk and many more websites were down due to the internet outage that happened this Tuesday.
According to the Guardian’s UK Technology correspondent Alex Hern, there was a failure in Fastly’s Content Delivery Network due to which Error messages like “Connection Failure” or “Error 503 Service Unavailable” were seen by the visitors of these impacted websites. At this moment, Fastly has confirmed that the issue has been traced and resolved. However, they’re still investigating the potential impact to the performance with their CDN.
